Kevin Price

Sustainability has been one of Kevin's key concerns for over 15 years (and he's not yet 30!). Gaining a strong environmental consciousness through punk music has lead Kevin down a winding and expansive path towards landscape design and implementation. Working for McNaughton's Landscaping for five years taught Kevin that landscape design is hopefully a creative conversation between people and their environment.

That punk inclination to be unconventional directed Kevin towards studies in permaculture, naturescaping, and creative environmentalism. During his studies at Goddard College in History, Ethnic Studies, and Sustainability, he had the opportunity to work first hand with thinkers in Sustainability, Agriculture, and Landscaping. His on-going education at Rutgers Continuing Professional Education has included Native Plant identification and Soil and Plant Relationships.

However, the most profound teacher is perhaps the stretch of dirt where he resides. Their residence is being gradually converted into a small suburban farm, complete with outdoor spaces for yoga, secluded reading gardens, and living playhouses for children constructed of sunflowers and sweet potato vines. His favorite designs reflect his client's inclinations with a deep attention to their specific land, water, and light.

Passionate about healthy bodies, relationships, & communities, Maiga has been creatively engaging in landscaping, yoga, ceremony, & travel from an early age. Learning landscaping in practice with Kevin Price, she has since formalized her education through Rutgers Continuing Professional Education. Theory and practice have led her to a proficiency in traditional landscaping along with a passion for permaculture designs emphasizing food crops-- and spotlighting their beauty! Plant life becomes the most creative medium as living rooms can be sculpted by planting walls of corn, sunflowers, or many other plants; bills can be offset by a self-sustaining vegetable garden; and orchards can crop up in suburban backyards.

In addition to landscaping, in 2010 she was certified to teach yoga at Yogawood. After completing 1,000 hours of teaching she became an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) by the Yoga Alliance. Learn more at maigamilbourne.com
